Brushing
Dear Stella,
My sister and I are taking horseback riding lessons. I would like to know if it is good to use a grooming mitt on more than 1 horse. Will it spread infection?
From, Riannon
Dear Riannon,
There are many kinds of skin infections that we horses get, and yes, one of the best ways to avoid this is to not share brushes unless you sterilize them. This helps keep organisms from spreading. Though no method is guaranteed, it definitely helps.
Love, Stella

Does Mini’s and larger horses get along?
I think so. My best friend has two big horses and wants a mini!
Mrr,
Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t! If you get a mini after you get a large horse, you should introduce them very gradually until you’re sure that the large horse won’t hurt the mini. It’s the same way as if you had the mini first! Here’s the thing: Horses of the exact same size and breed don’t get along sometimes, so it all depends on the horses.
I’m prety sure they do.
it is a good idea to give each horse its own grooming supplies.
Weird, were I used to ride there was about 15 horses and two grooming sets!!!
Why, anyway?
Once i get my horse i am going to get its own grooming kit just to be sure.
i have one grooming kit and i use it on alot of horses
where i go theres about ten or more groming kits and about 35 horses. also where i go the barn can hold up to 50 horses!!!!!!!!!!!!! isen’t that cool??????
I have one grooming kit and my instructor has more i only use mine and i use it on other horses\ponies that i groom
Yes it can cause infections and the beot let it happen is to not share brushes.
i use one grooming kit for 8 horses and they are all fine nothing should happen, i also clean the brushes out between every horse
