Meet Jane Ayers!
I have loved horses from an early age and rode regularly as a child. I took it up again in my thirties but stopped after a bad fall. However, I still enjoy writing about horses and support the Brooke Hospital for Animals, which rescues and helps mistreated horses and donkeys in poor countries. I care about all animals and support a number of animal charities, as well as being a vegetarian myself.
Born in 1962, in Peterborough, UK, I had my first pony story published when I was in my early teens and have always had a passion for writing. I’ve written short stories, poetry and articles for magazines, but mostly concentrate on the pony books.
I have a younger brother, and a cat called Biggles. I now live in Kent, where I teach Music and English, both privately and at a local college, with the age range of students from 12 – 28. I have many interests, including yoga, Egyptian dance, keeping fit, listening to music and going to the cinema.
It is always a thrill to see a book in print and to hope that many readers across the world are enjoying the stories as much as I enjoyed writing them.
