Meet Jenny Hughes!
I was born in Poole, Dorset, on the south coast of England, and apart from a few years living on the Isle of Wight and in Wiltshire, have spent all my life in this very beautiful county. My first writing success came at 14 when, as a pupil at the local girls’ Grammar School, I won a National Essay Competition sponsored by a tea company, my prize being a princely £5 and 10lbs of tea! I continued to write for pleasure and both my daughters can remember mum-made bedtime stories when they were growing up. Publication came in 1987 in the form of short stories for women’s magazines, mostly romantic with the occasional humorous or twist-in-the-tail tales.
My love of horses also goes back to my childhood, much to the surprise of my parents and siblings, as not one of them shared my enthusiastic passion. I learnt my riding lessons by mucking out and tack cleaning at a village riding school. Since then I have worked at a Stud Farm, an Equestrian Centre and with polo ponies, all experiences I’ve thoroughly enjoyed and which have provided great practical background for my horsey books. My own horses from kindly Welsh Mountain mare Magic to the glorious thoroughbred Vaguely James, an ex-National Hunt hurdler, have also been an enormous inspiration as I know so well the depth of feeling horse ownership can engender.
I now share my life very happily with husband Robin and two dogs, Chester and Max, and we live on the edge of a Dorset village, starting every day with a walk across heath land which overlooks the lovely Poole Bay. We both like going to the cinema and theatre including highly enjoyable trips to London’s West End. My interest in theatre has expanded to include involvement with local amateur productions, having helped write and direct several pantomimes, and my first serious stage play is to be performed this summer.

I LOVED The Sea Horses book! If you can make a sequel to it, it would be deeply appreciated. Do you have any other books wrote by Jenny Hughes? If you do, PLEASE tell me! Oh, and I have a request for Jenny. If possible, ask her if she could make a series to The Sea Horses. The Sea Horses being the 1st of course. And having the same charachters and setting also.
I know its a lot to ask (sorry)! Thanks!!!
