English Vs Western Saddle
Dear PONY,
I have 3 Tennessee walking horses, and I think the next breed of the month should be the Tennessee walking horse. I think that the Saddle Up: Let’s Ride English part of the magazine was really cool! I learned a lot about English riding that I didn’t know before. I want to learn more about western riding too, so I’m excited about getting the next issue! I have a question for Stella. I have two Australian outback saddles. I’ve heard that there are only two types of riding: English and western. But what type of riding would I be doing with an Australian outback saddle?
Thanks! From, Macy
Dear Macy,
You have some great suggestion for the magazine, and we’ll definitely get to some of them in the next few months! As for your question: you can actually use an English or western bridle with an Australian stock saddle —it’s really up to the individual rider. Western riders find the saddle easy to adapt to, but it’s most comfortable for riders experienced in hunt seat or dressage.
Love, Stella

i haven’t got a mag yet or the welcome package just three parts of it how come??????????????????
i had to wait like a month or so!
western sattle they are more cumfy!!!!
Western saddles are more comfortable, but I’m used to sitting in an english one. Australian Stock saddles are kind of like english and western saddles combined. It has a horn and long stirrup, but not a deep seat like a western saddle.
