Moon blindness
Dear Stella
I was reading a horse magazine and this girl said her horse had Moon Blindness. Do you know what that is and what it does to your horse?
From,
Katelyn
Dear Katelyn,
Moon Blindness is blindness once thought to be caused by the changing moon cycles. We now know that it’s more likely caused by a bacterium, parasite, virus or trauma to the eye – though the exact cause is not known. Sometimes it’s hard to diagnose, but tears in the eye, eyelid spasms and sensitivity to light are common symptoms. Thanks for your question!
Love, Stella

I horse that used to be at my barn had moonblindness. We just had to put drops in his eyes so they wouldn’t hurt.
Dear hannah loves Baron,
How do horses get moonbindless? Is it because the horse is to close to the moon?
FROm,
Jessica/ponylover
Hmm…I’m not too sure. I think it’s bacteria or something, but I’m not entirely sure. It’s moon blindness because it’s supposedly caused by moon cycles, but I’m not sure how they get it. I just know a horse that used to be at my barn had it. We had to put drops in his eye, and he would squint cause it hurt.
