Beautiful Browbands

Liven up your horses’ browbands for those extra-special occasions… with pompoms or rhinestones!

Materials you’ll need:

  • Pompom fringe (normally used for decorating pillows and curtains)
  • Flat-backed rhinestones
  • Water-resistant glue that works with these materials
  • A browband

Useful tools:

  • Scissors
  • Measuring tape

Here’s how (pompom):

  • Measure the browband and cut the band with the yarn a little shorter
  • Apply glue to the pompom fringe and press it down hard on the browband
  • Let it dry before you use it

Here’s how (gem):

  • Measure to find the middle of the browband and apply some glue there
  • Fasten the largest gem to the glue, right in the middle of the browband
  • Put small dollops of glue on the rest of the browband, evenly spaced
  • Press the smaller stones into each dollop of glue
  • Let it dry before you use it

I do not like this because O think it makes the bride look cheat/ or a craft thing. i just like the look of the bridle.

I think the browband is very cute Jessica especially for ponies
does not look cheap if you use good materials.

          Dear ihavefourpoines,
Yeah that is a good point but if i did this to my bride my horse would be so upset at me because it is very had to sell if you need too when you do this to a bridle.

i agree. its cute but dont do this on a show bridle. the judges won’t like it. it does make it look cheap.

I dont have a horse but i have like a lot of friends and there familys have horses. my friends horse big red snorted on me one time i was picking horse bugars of my leg for hours! yuck!

    • MightyMouse 6 August 2010 at 12:27 pm Permalink

dont worry! you will get riding lessons eventually! i dont have a horse either! My family couldn’t afford riding lessons for a long time. but then we found a barn that gave riding lessons for a cheap price. You could try to join a horse 4-H club. you will learn sooooo much. I did. keep looking for stables in your area. If you have any friends who take riding lessons ask if you can go and watch them ride. thats what i used to do. Good luck!!!!!!! :)

Its pretty, but I agree with the others a bridle should be a bridle. And if u are showing u dont want something like that to take the judges eye off of u.
