If he is agressive, try walking him in a narrow (but not dangerous) spot. For instance, walk him along a path surrounded by trees or fences where he can not turn in circles. Also, if he shows any sign of turning his head in to circle when you're going straight, quickly put pressure on the opposite leg (if he wants to go left, press your left leg against his left side and vice versa) and gently pull on the opposite rein (if he wants to go left, pull on the right rein). Another thing you can do: If he starts circling, and you can't stop him, go ahead and make him circle! Start walking him in really tight, hard circles, and pretty soon he should get tired of circling and go straight. :) Hope I help! LotsaHorseCrazy Horselover,

I started out riding on a rope. My idea of riding was being led around, mainly because that was all I ever knew. After about a year or so of riding like that, I was allowed to ride inside the round pen independently!! I was sooo excited, I couldn't stop grinning! :D Then, I was allowed outside of the round pen. Finally I was allowed to go in and out of the round pen without anybody else outside. Horseback riding independence is great, especially when you earn it!! :D I can't wait for the day that you're able to ride any where by yourself!!! :D LotsaHorseCrazy Pony luvr,
