Question of the Month: Lame Horse!
Now that the weather’s warmer and you’re spending more time outdoors (and hopefully with horses!) we’ve gotten loads of thought-provoking comments and questions, and we need your help more than ever before! How will you respond to a fellow PONY member’s real-life concern? June’s question of the month comes from Emily, who writes:
Dear Pony,
My friend’s lesson horse is lame! I feel very sorry for her! She said that the Thoroughbred is going to be lame forever! So the question I have is: if a horse becomes lame, does that mean he will be lame forever? Thanks for the help.
Emily.
P.S. Please keep her horse in your prayers because he is hurting!

if one of our barrel horses is lame then we take it to the vet and inject their joints. then sometimes we take them to the equine chiropractor
No! Some horses do stay lame forever but for most it’s just a stage! My horse has never been lame, but I’ve ridden many horses that have been.
my horse is lame at the moment but we have someone we know who cleans his foot and rebandages him up my horse is a percheron x warmblood he is 15.1 hands high and his absist has poped and the bottom of his foot we put im in a paddock but i have a feeling he got out but you should get someone to check out where your horse is lame and rub or clean it everyday because you can’t be slack on theses things they can get seriouse to soooo that info i gave you is important
hey guys i’m back my horse has dug his way out of his tiny paddock
