Question of the Month: No Horse
As you all know, PONY’s for both horse owners and horse dreamers alike, and we try very hard to make our books and gifts useful and fun for everyone. But just the other day I was thinking about how our Question of the Month posts may be more popular among horse-owners … and we don’t want those of you without a horse to feel neglected! It may seem sometimes like you’re the only person in the world who doesn’t have a horse, but I promise you’re not. Really loving horses but having to do without isn’t always easy, and to top off not having a horse, all kinds of complicated feelings like jealousy can arise. This month we’re tackling the question of how to deal with this tough issue – and this one’s especially for you PONY members out there without a horse.
Dear PONY,
I have a friend who goes to ride horses at her uncle’s farm, but I don’t. I love horses but do not have one, even though I really wish I did. My friend just makes me feel bad. Now I don’t know what to do! Please tell me what to do!
From, Megan F.

HorseSpirit do you still want new avatar?
it is really hard 4 me to deal with it i beg my parents about it and they say no i wish to have a ranch someday……i wish
Hi, it is really hard not having a horse and really wanting one. I REALLY want one but i find new ways to deal with it. I try ro make frinds with people who have horses. I now have a frind with three horses and she turned out to be my best, best friend. then i also play three sports; soccer, softball, and vollyball. What you do to deal with it is different for every person. just do something other than obsess about horses.

I know how you feel. My BFF has lessons ever week, but I can’t aford them. She is always telling me about how great it was and explaining things that she has learned. Sometimes she acts like she knows everything. But I know she is just so excited and I know I would be too. I try to not let it bother me and just think how happy it makes her and so I’m happy too. Maybe one day you and I will both be able to have our own horses. Until then, be glad that your friend gets to ride and will one day be able to help you when you start to learn. Good Luck!
I have a cousin who owns a horse farm, but my Aunt won’t let me ride,touch/pet,feed or do anything with them!!!!!! I feel so locked up.
i know how you feel
That is not very nice of her. Ask her why, in a polite voice, and if you don’t like the answer, don’t get hung up on it. It’ll just make you feel bad.
I don’t have my own horse, but I’ve been taking riding lessons every week for the past year. I really want my own horse but I can’t get one. So I just focus on riding better.
thats good for you but if you keep at it you will get a horse and you will be a awesome owner.
same with me! thats very good advice!
my dream hose would be a paint I LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEE PAINTs!!!!!!!!!!!!
hi, I did what u are doing now…. I’ve been begging for a horse for 4 years… and now, after years of riding and jumping, I’ve got my own one!!
Hope that happens to you too… but don’t worry, eventually it will.
i used to feel left out because a lot of my friends had horses i eventually got a horse bt i worked the whole summer for her. i would tell your friend how u feel or descause it with your mom or dad they might be able to get u into a riding school. and who knows a lot of things may happen
I go to a riding school but, you don’t do much there you just walk and trot around a arena. it’s not vary fun now that i’ve been riding thre for a while. but i’m not the good rider i know i can be. i want todo things other then walk in circles can some one help me????????? should i get a new riding school or what?
thanks to all that helped,
ponygirl
Well um least you have a horse
well I don’t have a real horse I just ride one there.
If u feel like you can do more and you would like to do more just tell your teacher, or if there is a problem, change riding schools, that’s what I did.
HA
Excuse me but thats a little ride to say
You shouldnt worry What I do is I go see my favorite horse noble and his mom jazz and i take riding lessons alot of people love horses and dont have one
dear Sarah or Bobbie,
I used to take lessons at a place I don’t really like that much, but now I don’t take lessons at all until we find a good place to ride. How can I stay in-touch with horses???? please help!
-ponygirl
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i know a good place to ride what state do you live in i can help or go on a web site type in horse riding places near ________ and a cool site will come up thats how i found out a place to ride.
you could always join a local 4-H club. thats what i did and you dont even have to own your own horse!
I used to have two horses, a sweet little black-and-white mini named Oreo and a big brown Tennesee Walking horse named Zoomer. My dad is allergic to horses and hay, but it was he who had to take care of them. They were supposed to be my mom’s horses, but, in my opinion, she is a nutcase who doesn’t know what she wants. Zoomer and Oreo were sold, Zoomer to a good family who already had a horse, and I don’t know where Oreo has gone. No-one has been able to explain to me why people give you something that they know you’ve been wanting for ages, then take it away again? It’s not fair!!!
Just tell her you don’t like how she has been acting tword you
you should try to take a riding lessons. so that you can ride horses to when i didn’t have a horse to ride i rode my neighbor’s
or you could ask her if you can ride with her sometime. just a suggestion
AFTER YEARS OF BEGGING I FINALLY GOT MY OWN HORSE!!!
Good for you!
Do I know it. I have loved horses since I was 6-and been riding for around 5 years. I STILL do not have a horse, but something has come up about a nice Quarter Horse that the owner of Catch (the horse I ride) were considering buying. The only thing that made them choose Catch was that he used to be a therapeutic riding horse. (I am still glad they chose my darling Catchlet! I would die without him.)
I wish had a horse my mother loves them and I can’t even do horse backriding either and all I ever want to do is something with horses. Dose anyone know a cheep riding stable HELP!!!
Hey Megan, don’t get down. I know how you feel I wish I had a horse too. I also have a friend who is always talking about how great her horse lessons are. She goes on and on and on and on…not even knowing what they’re doing. That’s why we have the Pony Club! We can read, talk, text, play games and more about horses! We all love horse and we aa=ll are here for you! Love your friend starburst!
It feels like there is no way I can really stay in touch with real live horses.
I don’t take riding lessons because my mom says most are just too expensive, and there is no way she will ever get me a horse!! D: I don’t know very many people who have horses either!
PONY does help me from going non-horse crazy though!
Horses are EVERYTHING to me and I don’t think I’ll ever stop loving them!!!!
I wish i had a horse!
