Question of the Month: How Many Acres?
How big is your bedroom? Now imagine the smallest possible bedroom you could live in – what would that look like? How much space do you really need to be comfortable? What about to exercise? Is the space each person needs proportional to how big or tall they are?
Why are we asking you this, you might wonder. We’re asking because this month’s question is about living space, except for a horse. Think about these same questions, except from a horse’s perspective, as you mull over the question below, sent in from Rachael K.:
Hello,
I’m desperate for a horse, but my dad says to have a horse you have to have at least three acres; our house only has one. It’s just that my dad knows nothing abuot horses! Is it true that you need three acres to own a horse?
Happy Trails,
Rachael K.

this is random. Mermaid melody songs make me cry, and Vocaloid really really good songs.

lol:)
well yes you do need alot of space, but you do not have to keep a horse in your house or back garden! you should probably go for keeping your horse at a stable yard. It is expensive, but it is probably the only way. Besides, there a horse will have lots of freinds to mix with and so will you! the other benefits of keeping your horse at a yard are the areanas, hacking trails and annual competitions. if i were you, i would deffinately go for keeping my horse at a stable yard!!
yes, you do need alot of space to keep a horse, but i would say that your best option, would be to keep your horse at a local stable yard. It does cost quite a lot but there are lots of bonuses to this, for example:
Lots of Freinds for both you and your pony!
Good places to ride and excercise your horse, like schooling arenas and hacking trails
Annual competitions, for fun and experience
and that is only a few that i can think of on the spot, but i am sure that there are lots more!!!

I agree with EMMA. You do need a lot of space. Or you could try to find a local boarding stable and see then if your dad says yes.

Hey there Jessica,
I’d give them a few days – our member service people are excellent, but remember, there are only a couple of them, and over 10,000 of you members! If you haven’t heard back by next week then yes, check in again with them. Hope this helps!
